Bluebook and the Digital SAT Tools
By the Cheetah Prep team
You take the digital SAT inside Bluebook, College Board's testing app, on a laptop or tablet. Knowing the tools before test day removes surprises and saves time. Here is what is built in.
The Built-In Tools
The one that matters most is the Desmos graphing calculator, available on the entire Math section. There is also a reference sheet with 12 geometry formulas on screen at all times, a mark for review flag so you can skip and return within a module, an annotation tool for highlighting text and leaving notes, an answer eliminator to cross out choices, and a per module countdown timer you can hide, with a five minute warning near the end.
None of these tools are hidden or hard to reach, but fumbling with them for the first time on test day wastes minutes you do not have. The fix is simple: practice in Bluebook itself.
Practice in the Real App
College Board offers full length practice tests inside Bluebook that mirror the real interface exactly, including the adaptive modules. Taking at least one before test day is the single best way to remove friction. You want the calculator, the flag, and the timer to feel automatic so your attention stays on the questions.
