Northeastern SAT Scores, GPA, and ACT (2026)

Northeastern University is a private nonprofit university in Boston, MA with about 17,326 undergraduates, and the Northeastern SAT scores admitted students bring are steep. Below 1440 puts you under 3 out of 4 enrolled students, and at a 5.2% acceptance rate that is a real handicap unless the rest of your file is exceptional. Your transcript is mostly fixed by the time you apply. Test scores are the one part of your application you can still move in a few months, and at a 5.2% admit rate you want every part of the file pulling in the same direction.

Set two targets. Hitting 1440, the 25th percentile, keeps you in range and makes submitting worthwhile under the test optional policy. Hitting 1540, the 75th percentile, puts you in the top quarter of enrolled students, and at 1 admit for every 19 applicants that is the tier worth planning for. Because Math runs 730 to 780 here, aim for at least 730 on that section even if your Reading and Writing score is already strong; a lopsided total built on a 720 Math reads weaker at Northeastern than the same total built the other way.
