Inside 1080 to 1260, your score matches the typical Ball State student and belongs on your application. Above 1260 puts you in the top quarter, which strengthens scholarship cases and stands out on campus.

The section splits matter too. Reading and Writing sets the higher bar here: 550 to 640 against Math's 530 to 620. The gap is only 20 points at each end of the range, but it tells you where the enrolled class is strongest. If your verbal score lags your math score by much, that is the section to fix first, since it carries more weight in matching the students around you. And if you are taking the ACT instead, the middle 50 there runs 20 to 24, and the same quartile logic applies to that number.

Admitted students at Ball State typically present an unweighted GPA around 3.0 to 3.5. That is a band, not a cutoff, and the school reads the number in context. A 3.2 built on honors and AP coursework reads stronger than a 3.4 from the lightest schedule available, because grades earned in rigorous courses count as much as the number itself.
